Minerals are essential for life, without them we could not survive. Every day we lose minerals in our sweat and body functions. Replacing minerals are paramount if you want to become or stay healthy.

Minerals play an important role in the forming and maintaining of bones and teeth as well as supporting the muscle, nervous and energy metabolism just to name a few.

Minerals can be broken down into 2 components. Essential and Trace Minerals. Both just as important as each other. A balanced diet usually provides this balance but with every day environmental and lifestyle factors these minerals can easily become depleted which are vital for every day functions.

Essential Minerals.

Some minerals are needed in larger amounts than others, this is what we call the ‘essential minerals category’.

  • Sodium
Needed for fluid balance, nerve and muscle function. Can be found in Celery, Carotts and beets!
  • Potassium
Needed for fluid balance, nerve and muscle function. Can be found in meats, fresh fruit and vegetables, wholegrain and legumes.
  • Calcium
Important for bone and teeth health. Assists in muscle contraction/relaxation whilst aiding nerve, blood and immune health. Can be found in greens (broccoli) and legumes.
  • Phosphorus
Important for bone and teeth health. Can be found in meat, fish, eggs.
  • Magnesium
Assists muscle, nerve and immune system health and function. Can be found in nuts & seeds, legumes, green vegetables.
  • Sulfur
Found in protein molecules. Can be found in proteins; meat, fish, eggs, legumes nuts.

Trace Minerals.

Some minerals are only needed in very small amounts these are what we call the “trace minerals” category.

  • Iron
Needed for red blood cells to carry oxygen around the body and for energy metabolism. Can be found in organ/red meat, fish, dark leafy greens.
  • Zinc
Needed to make protein, immune system health,  growth, wound healing, sperm production and is apart of many enzymes. Can be found in meats, fish, vegetables.
  • Iodine
Assists hormone development and metabolism Can be found in seafood, foods grown in iodine-rich soil.
  • Selenium
An important antioxidant. Can be found in meats, seafoods and grains.
  • Copper
Needed for iron metabolism. Can be found in legumes, nuts, seeds, organ meats.
  • Manganese
Part of some enzymes. Can be found in a variety of plant based foods.
  • Chromium
Closely assists insulin to regulate blood sugar.  Can be found in liver, whole grains and nuts.
  • Molybdenum
Part of some enzymes. Can be found in leafy greens, grains and liver.

The importance of minerals.

It is important to note that the minerals listed above are only a few of many. Minerals cannot function on their own and work in sync with one another to keep our bodies charged! If you are lacking in minerals or deficient in a particular mineral you can become run down, very quickly.

Whilst a diet rich in Organic green vegetables, fruits and wholegrains may give you some assurance that you are getting the minerals your body requires, our fresh produce today isn’t like it was in our ‘grandparents’ era. Much of the soil today is depleted and lacks the essential nutrients that we once did have. Not to mention the use of pesticides and herbicides used in commercially grown non-organic produce.

“Vitamins have no value if they don’t have a mineral carrier to get them to our cells.”

Replenishing your minerals.

Nuferm Mineral Drink provides daily mineral support by providing essential minerals, trace elements and nutrients in an easily assimilated form. At Nuferm we believe the best source of minerals are derived from a plant based source that the body will recognise.

Due to the increase of refined foods in todays diet the natural vitamins and minerals that we would normally acquire from food are dramatically lessened, therefore we need to support our bodies with these important minerals to function at our best. Without minerals the energy we are supposed to get from food won’t be properly absorbed by the body.

Nuferm Mineral Drink is derived from colloidal minerals sourced from ancient shale beds combined with volcanic cinders and humate. Combined this way the volcanic cinders are chelated by the humic and fulvic acids (Humic and Fulvic acids are the broken down contents of plant matter).  Containing more than 70 essential and trace minerals, amino acids, plant enzymes, chelated minerals and colloidal trace elements.

Having a proper balance of minerals in the body can make all the difference towards achieving optimal health. Introducing minerals into your daily routine is easy as the Nuferm Mineral Drink can easily be mixed into your daily probiotic smoothie or juice!
