We all know moving our body and exercising is an important component of leading a healthy lifestyle. The thought of it may scare you but once you learn to embrace the feeling of moving your body it can be so rewarding not only for the physical benefits but the mind and soul.

Exercise does wonders for the mind! When we move our body it promotes the production of the ‘feel good’ hormones produced by the central nervous system and the pituitary gland within the brain! Producing the feeling of happiness!

Moving your body doesn’t just produce more ‘feel good’ hormones it works to reduce levels of cortisol and adrenaline in the body – both of which are known to cause stress if levels are too high. This being said by reducing these and producing more ‘feel good’ hormones results in a shift within yourself towards feeling happier

Time can often feel of the essence in today’s busy, fast paced society – but finding the time to move your body doesn’t have to stress you out trying to fit it into your everyday schedule. Perhaps it is the simplicity of taking 10 minutes before you start  your day (even before you reach for your phone) to simply breathe…

This is often something we forget to stop and do.. simply breathe and take a moment to notice your body and mind to observe what your inner self needs at this time. Let your inner self guide you through these simple breaths.

Inhale through your nose for three counts..

exhale for three counts – and repeat.

The idea of nourishing your body through movement or simple moments of stillness can be so easily over-complicated. It’s important to keep it simple.

Let your body move through what you enjoy, try new things and discover what it is that you love to do and brings you the most happiness.

Discover movement through yoga, pilates, tai-chi, swimming, bush-walking or even the simplicity of feeling the grass or sandy beaches under your bare feet. Feeling grounded and discovering nature does wonders for the soul and can really help bring everything back into perspective.

Big or small it doesn’t matter but the main purpose being to feel in touch with your own inner self. Move the body more to increase the ‘feel good’ hormones, find the moments of stillness to truly tune in to yourself to nourish the mind & get outdoors to discover nature more to feed the soul.

Emotions impact our health so it is import to practice self-care and look after our bodies.
