We are often asked what is the difference between probiotics and prebiotics and do we need both? The answer is YES! Even though they may sound very similar they each play a different role.

Probiotic’s

Probiotics are the live good bacteria. Probiotics replenish the good bacteria in your gut that is often compromised daily by certain lifestyle and or environmental factors. Our gut should have over 500 species and nearly two kilograms of good bacteria.

These bacteria are our immunity—of which 80% is in the gut alone and without a full complement of our life giving bacteria, we would not survive. No plant, no animal, no human can survive without its bacteria. Not only do they assist our immune system, they break down our food to assist in releasing the vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

Compromised gut bacteria is a leading factor in malnutrition, you can be eating all the right stuff but if your gut bacteria is compromised then you are not getting the nutritional value of your food.

Prebiotic’s

Prebiotics are the fibres (food) that feed good bacteria (probiotics) to flourish and thrive.

What makes our range more than just another probiotic?

Over 25 years of research has gone into our range! Nuferm probiotic foods are nutritionally dense wholefoods in combination with prebiotics and probiotics. Oh, we are also Certified Organic! No nasties here!

How do we formulate our range of Probiotics to include both probiotic’sprebiotic’s?

By feeding organic food to a mother culture of good bacteria (probiotics) the food is then broken down, releasing the vitamins, minerals and amino acids for easier absorption which is essential for good health, which in turn aids in body repair at the cellular level.

The probiotics (good bacteria) lay dormant in the prebiotic and when consumed the change of temperature and pH wake up the probiotics and they become active and viable and multiply in their millions.  This is only one of the reasons why the product is so functional.

What difference does this make? Because ‘we are not what we eat, we are what we absorb’ it means there is a far greater chance of the goodness getting to where it is needed, and that means getting all that nutrition, amino acids and naturally occurring vitamins to our cells.

If you are not well or under stress the chances of absorbing the nutrients from food is minimal as the body is in a state of fight and flight. In fight and flight, we are less likely to absorb, but seeing all the goodness is already released in the probiotic powder a stressed body doesn’t have to break the food down as it has already been done. This means you are more likely to respond to the nutritional value of the foods. How do we know this? We know this because we have to start first time users on as little as 1/8th of a teaspoon until their body get used to nutrition at this level.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO NOTICE THE PROBIOTICS WORKING
You may notice in just a few days the benefits from receiving nutrition at this higher level. The benefits are not only from the probiotics, the benefits also come from the combination of pre-released nutrients, vitamins, minerals and amino acids that are often not taken up in a compromised gut.

CONSISTENCY IS KEY
Our trials have shown that improvements continue way past the first tub. All our trials were over 3 to 5 months with consistent improvements for the length of time participants monitored their own progress.

Remember to ask for the free Self-Check Questionnaire to monitor your own personal progress when you purchase next or alternatively download here.
