Preparing for pregnancy

The importance of preparing the body for one of the greatest transformations of all, Cradling New Life, is not one to be underestimated. In order to create and sustain life, a woman’s body must undergo certain preparations to ensure the greatest chances of success to carry and birth a healthy baby.

In an ideal world, we would sit down with our partners and families to map out every last detail from ovulation, moments of intimacy, foods to eat, exercises and pre-natal classes that support our efforts to become new parents.

In many cases this is considered a luxury or even fantasy as the reality of the situation can sometimes seem to be a little more along the lines of .. oops I’m pregnant…again.. how did that happen?!

So how do i prepare my body for pregnancy?

Just as a farmer prepares and primes the condition of the soil for the next crop, to ensure a healthy and strong produce, we too must prepare and prime our bodies by creating the perfect conditions and meeting additional nutritional requirements to ensure a healthy and happy pregnancy.

DETOX – In this growing toxic world it is important to not only detoxify your own body but for your partner to detoxify his body as well.

PROBIOTICS – Fertility health starts in the gut! Beneficial bacteria in the gut helps to digest and utilise nutrients from food, helping to heal the gut, also creating B group vitamins—all critical for optimal fertility. FOLATE – Also known as Folic Acid is great to introduce before falling pregnant and is a very important B group vitamin that helps to prevent birth defects or neural tube defects, such as spina bifida, and maintains optimal health and functions of the nervous system.

*Leafy greens are a great source of B-Vitamins.

ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS  – A proper balance of omega 3,6 and 9 fatty acids are important to help control inflammation throughout the body, maintain healthy skin, hair, nails, blood vessels and the nervous system. Deficiencies in one or both can lead to a variety of physical and mental complications

*Flaxseeds, Walnuts, Chia and Hemp seeds are excellent sources of essential fatty acids, with Hemp providing a balanced ratio of Omega’s 3, 6 and 9!!
