Growing kids constantly need a healthy supply of nutrients to nourish their bodies and sustain energy levels. Nuts are a common allergy in youngsters and these little beauties are not only nut free, they are gluten, grain, soy, dairy, refined sugar free as well as catering to those who are vegan and paleo. They are simply delicious, light and crispy not to mention packed full of nourishing ingredients that will keep both little and big tummies satisfied.

Flaxseeds are high in gut loving

fibre, keeping the bowel regular and sustaining blood sugar levels whilst providing essential fatty acids for optimal brain function and skin health.

Raw seeds pack a hearty protein punch essential for muscle and tissue repair specifically after an intense workout or those with higher activity levels such as our superstar Susie. Additionally raw seeds are encased with ample amounts of vitamin E and micro mineral selenium, essential for preventing cellular tissue damage in the body.

The high zinc and magnesium content of these little gems plus sesame seeds are optimal for enhancing immune function and reducing the physical and mental stress brought on from intense training.

Favourite cracker toppings include the classic avocado and fresh sliced tomato, avocado and chicken/smoked or tinned salmon, and hummus or nut butter if no allergies present.

• 1 cup filtered water
• 1/2 cup ground flaxseeds
• 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
• 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
• 1/4 cup sesame seeds
• 1/4 cup chia seeds
• 1 tsp sea salt

Preheat oven to 190 degrees and line a large flat baking tray with baking paper. Stir all seeds, salt and nutritional yeast if using together in a bowl. Stir in water and let sit for 1/2 hour to soak up the water. Using a spatula, flatten mixture onto the baking tray no thinner than 0.5cm. Lightly score the mixture into large squares (this makes it easier to break up when cooked).

Take out of the oven separate into pieces, flip over and continue to bake for another 20-25 minutes until brown. These will harden as they cool, when cooled add on the Nuferm Probiotic Foods at the end.

Nutritionally Yours,

Veronica
