What are the real benefits of buying Organic?

Certified Organic means they are not only Pesticide free they are also not Genetically Modified.

Genetically modified crops are designed to kills insects by destroying their gut when they eat the crop, so when we eat the genetically modified foods you have to ask, what is it doing to our gut?

Round up ready, is another name for these crops as the crop can withstand poisons such as round up. Could these poisons be reaching our dinner table?

This Toxic 12 was stated by the USDA who tested and even found that strawberries and spinach actually contained the highest amounts of pesticides. One sample of strawberries even tested positive for 20 different pesticides! This list of the worst offenders makes it simple for those wanting to make better choices for what to shop for when it comes to selecting fresh organic produce.

Increased awareness of the impact of pesticides on our health is becoming more prominent in the health conscious community, but for some we know that the cost of organic V’s non-organic fruit and vegetables can be hard on the budget. So if you are just starting out as an organic shopper and not to sure where to start, or you are looking to put your health first this year then beware of the toxic 12!

Remember ! We should always give our fresh produce a good ‘wash’ rather than a quick rinse. Soaking your veggies in a veggie wash or apple cider vinegar may help to remove some pesticide residue & bacteria that it could have come into contact with during transport or in the shop.
